Rob & Jennifer Taylor

Rob and Jennifer Taylor Rob and Jennifer have had a growing sense of God’s calling in overseas missions. It was their visit to the New Life Homes Farm in November 2010 where they felt the call had been confirmed.

Rob and Jennifer will bring a variety of skills and experiences to the farm. They both feel that God has been specifically and intentionally adding to them in preparation for this call. With Rob as a paramedic, Jennifer as a teacher and both in mission leadership, their backgrounds provide the skills they need, but it is their urban farming experience raising poultry and laying hens, foreign language training, orphan care work, and cross-cultural experience that make them a unique match for the ministry at new Life Homes.

Rob and Jennifer bring with them 4 children ages 8 to 15. Matthew, Luke, Will and Rachael are invested in developing a ministry of friendship and play!

Biographical Information

Rob was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Spanish which included a foreign exchange program to Mexico. His first position out of college was as an addictions counselor to troubled teenage boys. This revealed to Rob a love for crisis intervention that has influenced him to this day. After this Rob entered the construction field as a laborer for a general contractor. He quickly learned the basics in several areas including carpentry, plumbing, electrical and concrete work. For the last 15 years Rob has been a firefighter and in 2000 he became a paramedic. Rob has worked in several ministries in and around the church, including planning and leading short term trips with the men’s and high school ministries into Mexico to build houses for the marginalized and impoverished people of Tijuana. He has also taken part in a building mission to Romania and one to Guatemala to help give encouragement and support to a growing village.

"I have a heart for people of all ages who have yet to discover their God-given strengths and skills. With the prison of poverty and their current circumstances determining their self-view, being defeated becomes a way of life. My heart’s desire is to come alongside those whom God places in my path, to work with them, develop their sense of purpose, help them discover their God-given gifts, and bring a message of hope."

Jennifer TaylorJennifer graduated from the University of Denver in 1991 with a B.A. in French and Education. With continuing education she obtained her license to teach k-12. Prior to her career as a stay-at-home mom of 4, she taught for Denver Public Schools in the bi-lingual program. Her experience working with ESL students of multiple ages will go a long way to help equip the New Life Homes’ children for the future.

Her passion for orphaned and marginalized children was born out of her mission work with orphans in Romania and the adoption of their daughter. The process of learning about the plight of orphans captured her heart and the Lord stirred in her a deep desire to continue in ministry to children in crisis.

"My understanding of the lives of orphaned and marginalized children living in third-world conditions has driven me to make a difference. I can no longer just pray. I am compelled to take action with the investment of my life. My heart’s desire is to do my part in re-writing the future for these kids by offering education and an opportunity they wouldn’t otherwise have. My hope is in Christ, that through His leading I would be able to fill their minds with knowledge and their hearts with the love of Jesus."
